INTERPRETATION PLAN, AMPLEFORTH ABBEY

I was the Senior Interpretation Consultant for Ampleforth Abbey, North Yorkshire for the creative design consultancy PLB. The work included refreshing the estate’s existing visitor centre, and providing clear and compelling interpretation for a wide range of visitors. A workshop run with the steering group established a clear and accessible overarching concept for the interpretation across the site - 'Balance' - with four supporting themes that spoke to the overarching concept and also reflected Ampleforth Abbey's various activities and rich heritage. The Interpretation Plan formed part of the Abbey’s Round 2 application to the HLF.
